Cultural Routes of Jalisco - Architectural Tour in Guadalajara


We invite you to discover one of Guadalajara’s most iconic neighborhoods on a journey rich in history, architecture, and tradition. 📅 Thursday, July 2, 2026 🕘 9:00 a.m. 📍 Centro Laguna, Ajijic We will begin with a walking tour of the Lafayette neighborhood, admiring its architectural richness and historic residences while exploring the evolution of architecture in Guadalajara, from neoclassical influences to the most representative expressions of contemporary architecture that define this unique district today. Afterward, we will visit Casa ITESO Clavigero, an architectural gem designed by Luis Barragán, where we will learn about its history and cultural significance. During our visit, we will also view the exhibition Mar Dulce, Mar de Mentiras: Iconografía de Chapala, which explores the imagery, narratives, and cultural representations associated with Lake Chapala. To conclude the morning, we will enjoy lunch at the traditional Cantina Salón del Bosque, a classic gathering place that preserves the flavor and atmosphere of old Guadalajara. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about, appreciate, and enjoy the urban heritage of our city.
