+++++++++++++++++++++++ Huerto Cafe Turns 5 ! ++++++++++++++++++++++

Empty Stage

5 years ago Rocio Meillon started work on a dream...a place where her friends and family
could gather to share a moment of joy (and coffee) and share experiences, teaching each other
about medio ambiente/environmental concerns and life long lessons learned.  This dream she called
Huerto Cafe...and like all wonderful things it caught on and grew and grew and grew.

Early Huerto Cafe's Empty Stage

In those 5 years Rocio has done amazing things.  She has etched out a place for her business that
feels comfortable, fits beautifully into its environment and that is true.  In addition she has sponsored many events that have helped our local community and our fragile environment.

And so it was time to celebrate this milestone.  Rocio planned a party that would gift her clients, family and friends with an afternoon of fine food, masterful music and contagious company.

As with any good party invitations were sent.

The event soon was quickly sold out and the evening was soon upon us.

Waiting to enter

A full house was quickly seated and our attentive staff began to take orders.

A party would not be a party without music...and Rocio asked our friends
Ignacio and Victor to serenade our guest upon arrival.

Our mascote Kali was present to supervise all the activities.

Rocio made sure all the details were in order.

And Chef Charlie tended the grill, just right for our fabulous dinner

One of the most popular dishes that night was Filet Mignon.

As dinner progressed the band began tuning their instruments.

My fortune was to share a table with these lovely women.

Rocio was gifted a commemorative plaque for the past events she has hosted at Huerto Cafe.

After dinner the band took center stage.  Tommy Banks and the Soul Investors were in the house.

Dancing was definitely encouraged.

Art by Manny was seen throughout the venue.

+Anferes Dance Troupe, direct from Colima, Mexico was on the bill, preparing to perform.

Soon  +Anferes seemed to came out of nowhere and fascinated the crowd.

Vico made sure our guests were well tended to.

As day turned to night we grooved to the soul stylings of Tommy Banks and the Soul Investors.

Rocio asked me to dance.  I told her I'd do my rain dance, since our rainy season was late this year.
As the dance song ended...the rain began.

And it came quickly and in buckets!   It was a lovely way to end the evening.

As with most things in this lovely place, the afternoon and evening
were done with and full of love.

Here is to another 5 wonderful years of love,

being served at Huerto Cafe.

Thank you to all our patrons, clients, neighbors, family and friends.

We could not be here without you.
