Noted archeologist of Occidental Culture, Dr. Peter Jiménez Betts Ph.D. will present a lecture/walk to the petroglyphs of the Sierra Madra, above San Pedro Itzican, east of Mezcala on Thursday March 6th, 2025. The carpool will be leaving from Diane Pearl Gallery at 9 a.m. that day.

Peter Jiménez (Rochester, Minnesota USA, 1957) has been a research professor at Centro INAH Zacatecas since 1991. He studied anthropology, specializing in archaeology, at the Universidad de Las Americas, Puebla, Mexico, and his doctorate is in archaeology at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

This will be an opportunity to learn more about our local indigenous culture and the significance of the petroglyphs they left.
