This concert marks the Mexico debut of Italian pianist Guglielmo Santimone, one of the rising voices in jazz today, trained alongside figures like Rita Marcotulli and Gerald Clayton. Guglielmo Santimone is joined by Giovanni Cigui on saxophone (Italy), who opened this season's series back in March; Pedro Cervera on drums (Argentina), with more than 50 recordings to his name; and Benjamín García on bass (Mexico), who just released a new album with Antonio Sánchez.

++++++++++++++++ Summer Sizzle Gourmet BBQ - Sold Out! ++++++++++++++++

Our 2nd Annual "Summer Sizzle" Gourmet Barbecue took place on 

Saturday August 15th, 2026 at a private home in Chula Vista.

The sold out event was an afternoon of fine food and friends in support of 

the educational programs of Poco A Poco in the villages of San Pedro Itzican 

and environs, east of the town of Mezcala.

The kitchen crew arrived early to prep.  This great group of gentlemen, 

all friends of Chef Gary, arrived with enthusiasm and pep to spare.

The lovely and delicious dessert donations arrived and were ready to go.

This is the second year that the Lakeside Cooking Club has contributed 

to this delicious event.

And for the first time this year Vico and Rocio 

from Huerto Cafe also donate delicious treats.

Our volunteers worked hard to set up.

Meanwhile the kitchen grill was alight with sights and smells.

And as our guests settled in...

...the side salads and entrees appeared.

After the main courses were enjoyed

the prizes were distributed.  It seemed almost everyone was a prize winner.

There was time to catch up with old colleagues and friends.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle was announced.

Last year's Summer Sizzle was such a joy — great food, great company, and a whole lot of heart. This year we're bringing it back even bigger, and your ticket goes directly toward something that matters every single day in San Pedro Itzicán:  feeding children.

For the past few months Poco a Poco has been feeding 180 to 250 children, five days a week. The number grew to include breakfast for 72 preschoolers whose school was damaged and closed, leaving them with nowhere else to go.  So, they have been holding their classes at our community center and they needed breakfast.

Your ticket helps us keep those plates full and also helps us stock up on educational supplies so the kids have what they need to learn and grow.  Paper, crayons, paints, creative crafts, educational toys – all cost a lot!

Cultural Routes of Jalisco - Architectural Tour in Guadalajara

We invite you to discover one of Guadalajara’s most iconic neighborhoods on a journey rich in history, architecture, and tradition. Thursday, July 2, 2026 9:00 a.m. Centro Laguna, Ajijic We will begin with a walking tour of the Lafayette neighborhood, admiring its architectural richness and historic residences while exploring the evolution of architecture in Guadalajara, from neoclassical influences to the most representative expressions of contemporary architecture that define this unique district today. Afterward, we will visit Casa ITESO Clavigero, an architectural gem designed by Luis Barragán, where we will learn about its history and cultural significance. During our visit, we will also view the exhibition Mar Dulce, Mar de Mentiras: Iconografía de Chapala, which explores the imagery, narratives, and cultural representations associated with Lake Chapala. To conclude the morning, we will enjoy lunch at the traditional Cantina Salón del Bosque, a classic gathering place that preserves the flavor and atmosphere of old Guadalajara. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about, appreciate, and enjoy the urban heritage of our city.
